  • Rush Hour Music is reissuing two tracks from the South African artist Senyaka Kekana. The tracks in question are "Bayanyonyoba," a house-influenced tune from the 1993 album Ma-Gents, and "Don't Judge Me Bad," a more soulful cut that first appeared on the 1987 LP Fuquza (Dance). Original copies of those LPs are "absolutely impossible to find," Rush Hour says, and it'll be the first time the two tracks have appeared on an EP 12-inch. Kekana, who has passed away, was regarded as "one of the first African rappers" known for his "eccentric, controversial lyrics," according to Rush Hour. He was also an actor, appearing in films and TV shows. Rush Hour has recently reissued music from Japan, Surinam and the Caribbean. In March we profiled Rush Hour's Antal as part of RA's Art of DJing series. Tracklist 01. Bayanyonyoba 02. Don't Judge Me Bad Rush Hour will release Bayanyonyoba/Don't Judge Me Bad in June 2017.
