- The New York techno producer and Discwoman co-founder will debut on Ninja Tune's house and techno offshoot in June.
The Ninja Tune sub-label Technicolour will release Umfang's next album, Symbolic Use Of Light.
The Brooklyn-based hardware producer only has a handful of releases to her name, including a 12-inch for 1080p and a ten-track cassette for Videogamemusic. She's known for her live sets, and Symbolic Use Of Light is mostly built from live takes, with post-production used only for quick corrections rather than composition or arrangement.
"My process is really about sitting down and seeing what happens," she says. "It becomes a time-capsule of whatever works from that time period."
