  • The first-ever Detroit Electronic Music Camp will take place from May 18th through the 27th. The free workshops and classes will take place at DIME—the Detroit Institute of Music Education—and at Submerge, the record shop, museum and Underground Resistance headquarters at 3000 East Grand Boulevard. The schedule includes workshops with Motor City heroes like Juan Atkins, Amp Fiddler, DJ Minx, Mark Flash and John Collins, with topics ranging from "Underground Resistance history" to "equalization on big sound systems," plus showcases by Ableton, Roland and Pioneer. They've got Stacey "Hotwaxx" Hale on board as an instructor, alongside DJ Jungle, DJ Head and DJ Wask. The sessions will take place at 3 PM and 6 PM, depending on the day. The whole calendar can be found over at their official site, where you can also sign up before they reach capacity.
