  • Detroit house don Omar-S's FXHE Records is reissuing an ultra-rare 1978 disco album, AJL Band's Take Me Dancing. AJL Band is a little-known name that apparently emerged from Singapore's late '60s and '70s music scene. Initially issued both on band leader Jay Shotam's label Baal and Warner Bros. Records, Take Me Dancing features original tunes like "Classical Salsa," as well as covers of The Beatles' "Day Tripper" and Steve Miller Band's "Swingtown." Discogs suggests Take Me Dancing is an uncommon secondhand score—the one original LP currently on sale there has a $1,000 price tag. Remastered by Omar-S himself, it's now available—minus the track "Assassination"—on double-vinyl in an edition of 500. The move follows FXHE's release of Omar-S and Nite Jewel's collaborative Confess To U 12-inch. Listen to "Classical Salsa."
