  • A series of mixes recorded by Heiko MSO shortly before his recent passing have appeared online. According to heikomso.com, the DJ, producer and label owner recorded 12 sets in the weeks before his death with the hope of them being published for wider listening. The first is a five-part interpretation of the sound of Frankfurt's legendary Dorian Gray club in the years 1987 and 1988. The club opened in the city's airport in 1978 and was a centre of club culture throughout the '80s and '90s before closing on New Year's Eve in 2000. You can listen to the set at heikomso.com. Heiko MSO was a pivotal figure in German dance music, having had a hand in influential labels like Playhouse, Ongaku Music and Klang Elektronik with the likes of Roman Flügel and Ata. He passed away after a short fight with cancer. Photo credit: Roman Flügel
