  • Berlin Atonal and Deutsches Symphonie Orchester (DSO) are teaming up to present Parallax, a new event joining the dots between classical and electronic music. The evening session, which is scheduled for Friday, September 29th at Kraftwerk Berlin, will invite electronic and electro-acoustic artists Sophie Schnell (AKA Pyur), Valerio Tricoli, Paul Jebanasam and Moritz Von Oswald to respond to pieces of classical music. Highlights include Jebanasam performing "Cyc?omorphia," a new work for electronics and strings in conversation with "Atmosphères" by Hungarian composer György Ligeti, and Von Oswald collaborating with the DSO to present "Reminiscenza," an interpretation of Debussy's "La Mer." It'll be the first time the Basic Channel founder has performed the piece. Leading the DSO will be British conductor Robin Ticciati, who recently became chief conductor and artistic director of the Berlin-based orchestra. A month before Parallax, Berlin Atonal will take over Kraftwerk for its 2017 edition. Running from August 16th through 20th, the techno and experimental event will feature performances from Regis, Varg, Carla Dal Forno and more. Here's the lineup in full.
