  • Paul Woolford has uploaded 20 unreleased tracks to his SoundCloud. The tunes run the gamut from breakbeat hardcore, as in "Peak Peak Peak," produced under his Special Request moniker, to jacking house tracks like "Circuit Bent." The collection even includes a twenty-minute ambient suite and an edit of the Lil Louis classic "French Kiss." As THUMP points out, Woolford began uploading tracks late last week, and continued through the weekend, with a total count of 20 as of Tuesday evening. The idea was to "go ham on SoundCloud before the platform goes out of the window," Woolford said in an accompanying note, in reference to reports about the company's financial woes. He also said his archive consists of about 2300 tracks stretching back 15 years. "There is no point in releasing everything," he explained. "Some things work as exercises or as developments on the way to other locations, but I think SoundCloud is a context in itself that is strong enough to warrant things being released on here alone." The track bundle is a follow up to his Father, Son & Holy Ghost 12-inch from November of last year. Listen to a few highlights or check out the whole collection via Woolford's Soundcloud page.
