  • Séance Centre, an online store focusing on rare and obscure music from around the world, is open for business. They'll stock hard-to-find vintage records and cassettes, as well as select new releases and music from the Séance Centre label. They aim to put "artists, storytelling and design at the fore," says the shop's founder, Brandon Hocura, the Toronto collector who split off with Invisible City to start this new venture. That means each release they list is accompanied by an in-depth write-up from Hocura himself, often with archival photos and other contextual material. "We're not just hooked on music," he says, "but the musicians, cultures and places that create it." The label arm just put out a cassette reissue of 1986's ...Keyboard Fantasies..., by synth musician Glenn Copeland (formerly known as Beverly Glenn-Copeland). They'll follow that up with a double-LP compilation of works by Dutch artist Michel Banabila and a retrospective of Mexican guitarist and ambient musician Eblen Macari.
