  • Om Unit's next album will come out via Cosmic Bridge on October 27th. Self captures UK artist Jim Coles at an introspective period in his life, the label says. It mixes his usual bass-heavy electronic music—a blend of drum & bass, footwork and dubstep—with "the space of '80s-style experimental ambient compositions and the daring imagination of science fiction," they explain. The idea was to deconstruct and "reimagine" his established sound. The LP features collaborations with vocalists DRS, Rider Shafique and Amos over a collection of downtempo and dance floor tracks. This is Coles' third album, following 2014's Inversion for Metalheadz, though Cosmic Bridge says that Self is the "true follow-up" to 2013's Threads album, which also featured vocalists and more reflective passages.
