  • Berlin has a new nightclub called arkaoda. It's located in a former bowling alley in the city's Neukölln district, at Karl-Marx Platz 16. The club opened on January 5th with an event featuring Acido Records head Dynamo Dreesen, Andrea Belfi and a slew of figures from Berlin's music community, drawing on institutions like Oye, Torstrassenfestival, Cashmere Radio and Acud Macht Neu. arkaoda is a sister club to a venue with the same name in Istanbul, Turkey, which opened in 1999. The Berlin space aims to bring that club's spirit to Berlin—as they put it: "to search for the new and different, to support independent music and art and working with like-minded people, collectives and organizations. Creating a niche, a home for genre-bending concerts, festivals and parties."
