Mike Pendegast is putting together a book of flyers he kept from his rave days.
As The Wire reports, Flying Over England is an online gallery being made into a book. Pendegast traveled around the UK in the late '80s and early '90s going to raves and clubs, collecting flyers along the way. His book will focus on the years 1991 through 1993. There's no word yet on when it'll come out, but you can view some of the flyers below, and check out more at Flying Over England's official website.
"Flyers document an era of peace and love, an eradication of barriers, an ethos of unity and respect," Pendegast told The Wire. "These memories can never be buried or discarded. 1991 to 1993 was the golden age of rave art, with flyers developing from photocopied, black and white scribbles of the late '80s to highly elaborate works of illustration."
