  • Lady Blacktronika will put out her first record as Femanyst on Paula Temple's Noise Manifesto in June. The US-born producer and vocalist, real name Akua Marcelle Grant, is said to be on a "new mission" with Femanyst. While Lady Blacktronika has been known for crafting lush deep house tunes, Grant uses Femanyst to push a darker, techno-oriented sound—or as an announcement for the upcoming Post-Traumatic Rave Syndrome EP puts it, "aggressive '90s rave energy." Before the record's June release, she'll appear as Femanyst on a day-long program Temple has curated for next month's Nuits Sonores festival in Lyon. The day's other guests include Rebekah, DJ Stingray and SØS Gunver Ryberg. Temple also just put out a pair of digital remixes based on "This Country," a track from last year's well-received Fever Ray album Plunge, which she had a hand in producing. Listen to "This Country (Paula Temple's DESTROY Remix)."
And listen to "Hy Breed," from the upcoming Femanyst EP.
