  • Beth Orton has shared an unreleased Tim Buckley cover she made with The Chemical Brothers in the late '90s. "I rediscovered this track when it fell out of an unread copy of War And Peace after we'd moved house," Orton says of the cover of "I Never Asked To Be Your Mountain," a song from Buckley's 1967 album Goodbye And Hello. "Tom (Rowlands) remembers it being Jeff and Martin from Heavenly (my? record label at the time) who suggested we cover the track. Tom and I were huge fans of the original and loved the idea." Orton and The Chemical Brothers jogged their memory to determine the cover was recorded in the late '90s. It adds to a collaborative body of work that includes The Chemical Brothers tracks "Where Do I Begin" and "Alive: Alone." Orton, whose last album Kidsticks, was produced by Fuck Buttons member Andrew Hung, has launched a new label to release "I Never Asked To Be Your Mountain." The imprint, Lost Leaves, will continue on with other lost recordings Orton has found. Listen to Beth Orton & The Chemical Brothers' "I Never Asked To Be Your Mountain."
