The Kraków festival has added nearly 50 more acts, including SOPHIE, DJ Lilocox and a debut back-to-back from Objekt and Lena Willikens.
This year's festival will conclude with a tribute to Jóhann Jóhannsson, the late composer who skipped the 2016 Academy Awards in order to perform at Unsound Adelaide. The ensemble memorializing Jóhannsson comprises Hildur Guðnadóttir, Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe, Erik Skodvin, Sam Slater and Sinfonietta Cracovi.
Unsound 2018, which ruminates on the theme "Presence," will also host the premiere of Ursula K. Le Guin & Todd Barton’s Music & Poetry Of The Kesh, following RVNG Intl. sub-label Freedom To Spend's reissue of music Barton composed for the late author's 1985 novel, Always Coming Home. Huerco S, meanwhile, will perform under his Pendant alias for the first time.
As usual, Unsound includes a global array of experimental club sounds. SOPHIE, Lotic, footwork veteran RP Boo, UK-based up-and-comer Object Blue, DJ Lilocox, Nyege Nyege affiliates MCZO & Duke, Gábor Lázár and Powder will all travel to Kraków.
PAN has added a couple of acts to its collaboration with Unsound, which also marks ten years for Bill Kouligas' experimental label. Objekt will play back-to-back with Lena Willikens for the first time, and Eartheater, who just put out her IRISIRI album, will play live.
The preceding artists join already announced acts such as Ben UFO, Tim Hecker, Christoph de Babalon, JASSS and Terry Riley.
