- The Melbourne DJ will work with Kalita Records to reissue four tracks from Ghanaian artist Nana Tuffour.
CC:DISCO will launch a new label, CC:EDITIONS, in conjunction with UK reissue outfit Kalita Records.
The first release comes from Ghanaian singer and songwriter Nana Tuffour, an artist who has been recording since the late '70s, and features four tracks from his back catalogue.
CC:DISCO, real name Courtney Clarke, explains that "the idea came about after playing Tuffour's song "Jesus" at Strawberry Fields in 2016, right before the storm that wiped out the whole festival. I tracked him down on Facebook to thank him for making the music he has made over the years and sent him a video of me playing 'Jesus' to a few thousand people in the middle of the Australian bush. He replied with 'PLEASE CALL ME NOW.' So I got on the blower with him and we talked for ages, and eventually we both thought it was a good idea to get his music out there again. That's how the label was born."
