Out on Hospital Productions, the seven-track LP sees the techno artist reunite with former collaborator Camella Lobo.
Out in December, Shadows Of Death And Desire is the second LP from Silent Servant, real name Juan Mendez. It sees the Los Angeles-based producer deliver seven punk- and industrial-inspired techno tracks recorded after "a significant life change." One track, "Optimistic Decay," is a collaboration with Camella Lobo, the producer and vocalist better known as Tropic Of Cancer, a solo project that was once a duo involving Mendez.
Formerly a member of Sandwell District, Mendez is one of the US's key techno artists, with a catalogue that stretches back to the '90s. He's also the graphic designer behind the artwork for Jealous God. You can read more about his approach to design here.
