  • Brian Eno will issue remastered versions of four landmark ambient records in November. UMusic and Virgin EMI will reissue Discreet Music (1975), Music For Films (1976), Music For Airports (1978) and On Land (1982). They chart the trajectory of his pioneering explorations in ambient music, a term that he himself coined to describe a new type of listening and engagement practice. Music For Airports, his best-known ambient work, was the first album ever explicitly labeled as such (in its accompanying essay about background music). The deluxe double-pack versions of these reissues were remastered at half-speed for higher fidelity, though they will also be also available on standard single-LP vinyl. UMusic and Virgin EMI will reissue Discreet Music, Music For Films, Music For Airports and On Land on November 16th, 2018.
