The recordings were discovered in a box of demo tapes at the Warp Records office last year.
Out now, the EP was compiled and released to coincide with the Oslo memorial ceremony for Mika Vainio, the Finnish techno artist who recorded as Ø and as a member of Panasonic (later renamed Pan Sonic). The documentary, directed by Finnish artist Jimi Tenor, tells the story of Vainio's Sähkö label in an abstract way through interviews, studio and performance footage.
The soundtrack itself was rediscovered last year at the Warp Records offices in a box of demos tapes submitted by Jimi Tenor. It includes tracks from Vainio as Ø and as part of Panasonic.
