  • SoundCloud has announced a new feature integrating its catalogue with a wide variety of DJ software. Revealed today in Amsterdam at ADE, the new feature will make tracks, DJ mixes and other media on SoundCloud available to SoundCloud Go+ users on certain DJing programs. Participants include Native Instruments (the makers of Traktor), Serato, Virtiual DJ, Mixvibes and more. It's the first time that SoundCloud has made the catalogue available this way. "Until recently, digital workflows for DJs were limited to downloads and physical media, but streaming workflows are the future," SoundCloud CEO Kerry Trainor said in a press release. "Through these partnerships, DJs will have the largest, most diverse streaming music catalog ever assembled instantly accessible within the tools they use everyday." The streaming platform also revealed recently that SoundCloud Go+ subscribers would have access to higher-quality (AAC 256kbps) media for files originally uploaded to the service in a high bitrate or lossless format, geared in part towards those wanting to play them on their DJ software.
