  • Two Marcus Intalex-related records are coming out in November. In addition to his long DJing and production career, Marcus Kaye—who died last year—was well known for running the drum & bass label Soul:r. Now his family is arranging the release of Soul:r's final record, the Fourfit 09 EP from Mako. (Kaye collaborates as Marcus Intalex on the 12-inch.) "Without Marcus here to curate, direct and propel the music he loved passionately on his label, it would be dishonest to continue to release records without him under the Soul:r name," reads the press release. Also coming is a new EP from Kaye under a new project for "classy, cheeky house"—one of the final things he worked on before his death—called Art Vandelay. Originally meant to come out as an anonymous release, it would have launched a new label called Vandelay Industries. The Marcus Intalex Music Foundation will launch in November as well, with a kick-off charity event at The White Hotel in Manchester on Friday, November 2nd. The Foundation will be a "platform to support and nurture talent in many aspects of music development and the culture that surrounds it," encompassing workshops, seminars and events. Listen to "Ballin" by Art Vandelay.
