  • Early tracks from ghetto house pioneer Houz'Mon—AKA Slick Master Rick—are the subject of the next release from Midnight Shift. The three unreleased tunes on Factory Jack Muzik were made between 1987 and 1988 and present an early, acid-influenced take on what would become ghetto house. The EP also features a re-release of "Halloween House," which originally came out on a split EP in 1988 and a few compilations after that. Brenecki contributes an edit on the digital version. Slick Master Rick, real name Rickey Custer, founded the BeatBoys label in the '90s and released some of the most foundational tracks in the genre as Houz'Mon. Listen to clips of Factory Jack Muzik.
