"We hope you understand this decision, it was not made easily," said label Ostgut Ton.
The mix was originally due out today. In a statement signed by Ostgut Ton and posted to social media by Baumecker, Ostgut Ton said that it "attempted at finding a solution in clearing all tracks until the very last minute—unfortunately without success."
"We respectfully ask you and all artists who granted their permission for your patience and trust in our mission," the label added. "We hope you understand our decision, it was not made easily."
When the label switched its mix series from CD to downloads, they also embarked on a new licensing scheme which asked rightsholders to allow the label to use the music for free—because the mix would be released for free as well.
"I'm very sorry about the state of the music industry today," Baumecker posted on Instagram. He also said that he would play a live version of the mix at the release party at Panorama Bar this weekend.
Though Baumecker's mix isn't coming out today, the two 12-inch compilations—featuring tracks from FaltyDL, Gen Ludd, Ross From Friends and more—are out now.
