  • Brian Eno and Peter Chilvers have announced a new version of the generative music app, Bloom. Bloom: 10 Worlds contains a broader palette of sounds than the original app, which created a new standard a decade ago for user-friendly, interactive instruments by combining generative ambient sounds with moving artwork. Sounds and images are grouped into ten so-called worlds, each containing new "combinations of sounds, shapes, colours and rules of behaviour." It's available to pre-order today for around $5 depending on your region, with the full release arriving December 7th, at which point the price climbs to around $8. Unlike the original, the new version will be available on Android as well as iOS devices. Eno has been collaborating with Chilvers, a software designer and musician, for a decade, working together on music apps and audio-visual installations. Watch a short clip of the app.
