It comes out via her label CONCORDIA on March 22nd.
ANCESTOR BOY, set to arrive on the Egyptian-Iranian artist's label CONCORDIA, was written between Los Angeles, Mexico City, New York, London and Paris. As such, the theme behind the pop and club album is "freedom of movement." There are also production credits from international peers Nick Weiss, Aaron David Ross and L-Vis 1990.
Lafawndah released her first, self-titled EP via Warp Records in 2014. Her follow up, a collaborative 12-inch with Japanese composer Midori Takada, came last year, initiated as part of a KENZO multi-media fashion campaign with a 20-minute piece and film. She also contributed to Laurel Halo's 2017 album, Dust.
Ahead of the album's spring release, Lafawndah has shared the first single, "DADDY." Listen to it below.
