  • A rare early '90s Aphex Twin recording has made its way to SoundCloud. New Jersey's Lofidelic Records posted the recording, which purports to be from one of AFX's performances at the legendary New York City club Limelight in either 1991 or 1992, Electronic Beats reports. "Back in the early '90s when techno was just starting to explode in NYC, I snuck a portable DAT recorder into the Limelight nightclub when Richard D. James, the Aphex Twin, was DJing a very rare live set," a note accompanying the mix reads. "I recorded his entire one-hour set from the crowd and then put the DAT away for 25-plus years. The other day with the help of my friend Tony Rodriguez and his DAT machine, we finally made a digital copy of the set and finally uploaded it for all to hear." The mix includes tracks by Dave Clarke, Kinesthesia, the Drexciyan project L.A.M. and AFX's own Bradley Strider project.
