Jonny Nash and Diego Herrera (Suzanne Kraft) will launch the new MATstudio series with an album for Nash's label Melody As Truth in February.
MATstudio 1 will reflect the working processes of the Amsterdam studio Nash and Herrera share, where "many hours are spent experimenting with new methods, tools and ideas," the label says. Thus far, Melody As Truth has released "measured, conceptual" mini-albums and EPs from Herrera, Nash and others, but the two musicians say the new series will better capture "the chaos and spontaneity which often inhabits our studio." Each release will consist of two long-format works, and will be available on vinyl and digital. Some will feature friends and collaborators of the duo.
Nash just released an album, Make A Wilderness, through Music From Memory. Last fall, Herrera put out an LP via Rush Hour's No Label imprint under the alias SK U Kno.
