  • Boomkat Editions just released an album from American experimental composer Akira Rabelais. The label describes CXVI as "a trance-inducing take on early music via a prism of shoegaze, ASMR, classical and textural sound design." Comprising four long-form compositions, it features contributions from a number of ambient and experimental stars: Eno collaborator and ambient pioneer Harold Budd, Ben Frost, Karen Vogt of the Australian band Heligoland, Stephan Mathieu and Biosphere’s Geir Jenssen among them. The album—which follows two Boomkat reissues of the composer's older LPs, Spellewauerynsherde and Eisoptrophobia—was "many years in the works," the label explains. Listen to "star of every wandring worth's unknown."
