府城, recorded during and inspired by a stint in Taiwan, is out next month.
府城 was recorded in Yang's grandmother's vacant apartment in Tainan, Taiwan, shortly after she died. (The title translates to Fucheng, a former name of the city.) Yang used his live performance setup along with a microphone to record the EP, rather than his usual home studio, resulting in a more stripped-back sound that makes prominent use of vocals and monophone synthesizers. The five tracks reference and were inspired by the landmarks surrounding his grandmother's building.
This is Yang's third release on Honey Soundsystem, and comes in the wake of records for Cin Cin and Dark Entries, including last year's album, Parler Musique.

Honey Soundsystem will release 府城 on March 22nd, 2019.
