  • Mike McGrath, founder and head administrator of modular synth forum Muff Wiggler, has passed away. The announcement was made via a post by admin Stephen Drake on the forum yesterday stating, "Mike McGrath, aka Muff Wiggler, has passed away. He was the head admin and founder of this forum. I don't know many details, and nothing I want to share. This has been terrible news for me and many others." The forum had been down over the weekend owing to unpaid bills. In July last year, McGrath took to Facebook to give away a Buchla Music Easel in return for a "type O partial liver donation" in order to "help save two lives." Since launching in 2006, Muff Wiggler became one of the largest forums for synthesisers and modular gear especially. It's a crucial source of information for new and existing modular users and DIY enthusiasts and is frequented by numerous notable manufacturers and producers. We will update this story as details emerge.
