  • Ibiza's San Antonio council has granted Privilege permission to open for the upcoming season, but not the entire club. Last December, while the San Rafael venue was shut for winter, officials temporarily suspended its licence after discovering that parts of the architecture had been illegally modified in an attempt to increase capacity. Because the club has now rectified the main issues, including clearing emergency exits, the suspension has been lifted, though certain areas still deemed unsafe will remain shut. The closed sections include the Coco Loco and Pyramid rooms, which both have dance floors, and a balcony attached to the Safari bar. The giant club's two main spaces, Main Room and Vista Club, will remain open. Officials also suspended the licence for nearby super club Amnesia in December. The club opened for the season last weekend, which suggests it met the necessary safety requirements in time. Privilege's flagship house and techno residency, Resistance Ibiza, returns on July 23rd. It'll run for nine weeks, with Sasha, John Digweed, Nastia and Carl Cox among the names. Resident Advisor has reached out to Privilege for comment.
