The global network's first large-scale international event will feature talks alongside music showcases.
shesaid.so has revealed the first installment of MEETSSS, a conference for "music industry professionals and artists of all genders."
The gathering, which will be shesaid.so's first large-scale international event, will take place in Portimão, Portugal, from October 3rd through 6th. A series of talks and music showcases will focus on various issues related to the music industry, including intersectionality, diversity and inclusion, starting and running your own business, and mental health and wellbeing.
Speakers include Sónar Festival's head of communications, Georgia Taglietti, body positivity influencer Chidera Eggerue, AKA The Slumflower, and former head of corporate development at Superfly Jennifer Justice, who also runs the female-focused advisory and legal firm The Justice Dept.
The conference will be complemented by a series of music showcases featuring local and international artists, "with a clear but non-exclusive focus on female-identifying talent." Some of these will also be open to the public. The full lineup will be revealed at the end of July.
The talks and music showcases were curated in partnership with organizations such as the British Council, Kickstarter, Village Underground Lisbon and Resident Advisor.
