  • Jordan Sauer, AKA Segue, is back with a new album called The Island for Silent Season. The LP is inspired by Vancouver Island, which both artist and label call home. Specifically, The Island is informed by the area's history and prehistory, starting from when Canada's First Nations people "migrated into the fjords and rainforest carved out by the retreating glaciation of the last Ice Age" four thousand years ago, according to the press release. "?While Sauer's last album very much explored a cross section journey of British Columbia from the mountains to the sea," it adds, "The Island explores the hidden coastlines and inlets that pepper a still-mysterious landscape, fragile in its uniqueness and isolation." As usual for Sauer, the album's sound revolves around dub techno, with dips into post-rock and acid house. It was mixed down to and mastered on analogue tape by Stefan Betke, AKA Pole.
