object blue is releasing a new EP this month.
FIGURE BESIDE ME features two new tracks, which the London-based producer began writing at the end of 2017 when she first met her fiancée, Natalia Podgórska.
"Up until then, I'd never made music about my life or emotions, and I didn't intend to," object blue wrote on Facebook. "But that day I sat in the silent uni library with my headphones on and the first minute of it just fell out of me into a blank Ableton project. I knew it was the dearest thing I'd made... It may seem like 'only' two tracks, but they're the richest, most earnest tracks of mine. I really adore them!"
In lieu of a vinyl pressing, object blue is releasing the EP with a limited-edition booklet featuring her writing, photos by Podgórska and excerpts from Courtney S. Danforth's Philosophical Ecstasy.
Between completing the tracks and self-releasing them, object blue has released two EPs: Do You Plan To End A Siege? on Tobago Tracks and REX on Let's Go Swimming. She's also shared tracks and remixes on compilations and Bandcamp—including a Yaeji remix EP.
