  • Rvng Intl. sub-label Freedom To Spend will reissue Ernest Hood's nostalgic 1975 opus, Neighborhoods. Hood composed Neighborhoods using field recordings that "define the universal and aural images of childhood," according to the label. The album takes the form of both score and documentary, with the Portland, Oregon artist aiming to summon a "joy in reminiscence." The original version of the 1975 LP, which includes "zither, synthesizer melodies and foraged pedestrian sound," is extremely rare and has fetched high sums on Discogs. The reissued LP will be a remastered version of the original album, with the material transferred to four vinyl sides rather than the original two. The album will also be accompanied by liner notes from Michael Klausman, with a portion of the proceeds going to KBOO FM, a community radio station Hood cofounded. Listen to "Night Games."
