  • Ryuichi Sakamoto, Tim Hecker, the late Ras G and more have remixed tracks from Japanese folklore singer Chitose Hajime's 2018 album, Amami Shima-Uta. Hajime is a Grammy nominee who has previously collaborated with dub duo Sly & Robbie. She sings in the Amami shima uta style, the traditional music of the Amami islands of southern Japan. Dorian Concept, Shintaro Sakamoto and Chihei Hatakeyama round out the six-track remix album, out on November 27th via Universal Music's Augusta Records. Next month, Ryuichi Sakamoto will release a live album recorded last year at the Sydney Opera House with Alva Noto. Tim Hecker and the Konoyo Ensemble were recently announced as part of the Unsound New York lineup. Listen to Ras G's remix of "Kubanuha-Bushi."
