Starting his DJ’ing career at 14 with house parties, Brendon Perera has since played in many clubs in Singapore and around the globe. 22 years of experience behind him has given him better understanding of the scene and he’s also had a crucial role in the development of the dance culture in Singapore. Citing the likes of Larry Levan, Jellybean Benitez, Masters At Work, DJ Gregory and Osunlade as his inspiration, Brendon’s musical repertoire is a good mix of jazz, soul, funk and garage with Latin influences.
He’s currently anchoring the coveted Saturday residency at Velvet Underground, renowned club Zouk’s sister establishment and in between Singapore Slings RA had a chat with him about the local scene, music and the future.
