London based electronic music group Lalazar Limited, known mainly as TrustTheDJ went into Administration earlier this year and doesn’t look to be coming back.
In the time of its 4-years running TTDJ released a total of 52 CD's mixed by a handful of top DJs including Saunderson, Goldie, Carl Cox, Westwood, Gilles Peterson, Marky, Tong and many others. TTDJ also hosted the various forms of their online Radio and pushed many interesting ideas to the dance music industry and interested public.
Their downfall was expected by some, and has been a big surprise for others. The company failed to find the substantial financial backing required in the new year to keep them operating and as a result has had to call in the Administrators. To point out that this is not like what happened to GU as they came out of their brief administration period revived - as Franklyn Ofonagoro of BDO said: "It is highly unlikely that TrustTheDJ will continue in any other form with the same management, as all the assets are currently being sold."
The fall of TrustTheDJ also brought down the wholly owned subsidiary Cosmack Management Limited, who you may or may not know, previously ran the much of the international booking for John Digweed, Carl Cox and handful of other top DJs. Not the best of news to start the week.
