It is just over a year since we were last blessed with a tour by UK hip hop legends Rodney P and Skitz. Get ready for the good times to roll again as the duo return to play Australia and New Zealand throughout the month of June, thanks to the Sonar crew.
Skitz first began DJing in 1991 and has been building from strength to strength ever since, including winning many accolades for his productions. He has collaborated with Roots Manuva, remixed Roni Size, Lamb and FreQ Nasty and produced tracks with some of the highest calibre UK hip hop labels and artists. His label Titan Sounds has been putting out quality tracks from up and coming, home grown talent and May 2004 sees the release of his mix for the "Home Grown" series out by the React label, featuring Taskforce, Terra Firma, Braintax, Dynamite MC, Jehst, Roots Manuva, Rodney P and more.
Rodney P has a style and sound all of his own. With his distinctive south of Thames twang, Rodney has worked alongside all of the leading lights in British Rap, including Roots Manuva, Jemma Fox, Mark B & Blade, Nextmen as well as Stanton Warriors and MJ Cole. In 1997, with input from DJ Biznizz, Rodney and Dobie made the "Tings in Time" EP and 2003 saw the release of his "Big Tings We Inna" album on his own Riddim Killa label. Each week, the radio show Original Fever on BBC 1Xtra, which Rodney does with Skitz is the most listened to Hip Hop radio show in the UK. His highly anticipated new artist album "The Future" is due for release in June 2004.
