A new night is kicking off in Melbourne on Saturday 22 May. Boompty will focus on the Chicago and Detroit house sound. The name of the night comes from the word "Boompty", which Derrick Carter coined to describe the way people moved on the dancefloor to the special kind of house music that Chicago has become associated with. Bringing some of these sounds to Melbourne on a weekly basis at Boompty will be local DJs Matt Sykes, Rob Wu and Junji Masayama. Boompty will be on every Saturday from May 22 at Eleven-A, 11A Highlander Lane, Melbourne CBD, from 8pm 'til late.
Entry is free before 10pm then $5 guestlist/$8 general after 10pm. You can even get $4 drink specials between 8 and 11pm to entice you down to the intimate surrounds of 11a on a cold evening. For more info contact [email protected]
