  • The Crystal Method (USA) are coming to Melbourne on Friday 2 July as special guests at the first instalment of Uprock at The Metro. Promising a night of break beat of behemoth proportions, the duo of Ken Jordan and Scott Kirkland will be joined by an all-star local lineup over three rooms. To heighten the atmosphere the sound will be provided by a D&B Audiotechnik system, and Australia's best in-house lighting and visual rig. The Crystal Method started out in the mid nineties and have gone on to become one of the world's premier electronic outfits with their bass fortified and hard rolling sound. They have collaborated with heavyweights like Rage Against The Machine's, Tom Morello and Stone Temple Pilots frontman Scott Weiland in their work, breaking barriers between genres with a mix of rock, techno and soul. They have recorded several albums a mix album, "Community Service", developed out of their DJing passion. Their latest album, "Legion of Boom" is spontaneous, defiant, intense, loud and occasionally insane. In Melbourne you will be able to witness the Crystal Method doing a never before seen DJ set over three decks, two mixers and effects. Here's the full lineup for the evening. Tickets go on sale Thursday 20 May from Ticketek, Metro Night Club, Gaslight Music, Central Station Records, DMC, and Polyester Records.
