  • As Sydney is about to step foot into the summer of 2004 we'd like you to take a look back in time and picture this.. it’s the summer of 1983 in the Bronx at an NYC block party, a 13 year old boy by the name of Hector Romero steps up on the decks and starts playing a combination of Latin, House and Hip Hop. The crowd went wild and instantly fell in love with this young kid with such an obvious talent behind the turntables. He was quickly nicknamed 'Baby Hec'. As the years went by Hector's talent kept growing, as did he. It wasn’t long until he was snapped up to play in such legendary New York clubs as Palladium and the Roxy and was recruited by Judy Weinstein to work at Def Mix Productions and assist in the creation of the Definity Records imprint with David Morales. His most recent business venture is as a participating partner in Satoshi Tomiie’s upstart imprint SAW.RECORDINGS. Hector will be on our shores next month to help us kick start the Australian summer and we're sure that he will have the same effect on you as he did on the crowd back at that block party in 1983. Tickets are $30. For more info visit the Tank website on the link below.
