  • Drum 'n' bass fiends are set to take over the Colonial Hotel, Melbourne on Friday 6 May when Big Bud makes his debut Australian performance to support the release of his new album “ Fear of Flying.” From the stable of LTJ Bukem's label Good Looking Records, few Drum ‘n’ Bass artists can boast the accolades and achievements of drum and bass legend Big Bud. His sound has had many influences ranging from soul, reggae, to funk and jazz. Big Bud also has all bases covered on the production front, from deep rollers to soulful dancefloor flavas, he had released over 70 tracks and 3 albums since 1994. With releases such as Infinity + Infinity, Mr Nice, Late Night Blues and Noodles, just to name a few, Big Bud has branched out to start his own label Sound-trax, which has had many groundbreaking releases showcasing an array of artists and many diverse styles. Sound-trax has had releases from artists such as Noisia, Pacific, Future Prophecies, Zero Tolerance, and is soon to drop a release from local Melbourne D‘n’ B pioneer, DJ Motive. Local support on the night will come from Motive, Safire, Livewire, Beatski, JPS, Finna and Dabeata (live percussion), and there will be visuals by Remark. Tickets are available now for $20 +bf from DMC Records, Slap records, Alley Tunes, and Central Station. Fear of Flying hits the shops in late April.
