Guru is best known as one half of the rap outfit Gangstarr. He is an artist capable of bridging the great divide between his underground roots and the mass market. His renowned series, Jazzmatazz, is a fusion of hip hop and jazz, and has earned its place in the music collections of many.
June 2005 will see Guru undertake his first ever solo world tour with the first stop in Australia! He will be supported by New York’s underground mix tape king DJ Doo Wop, and producer Solar, who Guru collaborated with on his first solo album, "Guru V7.0 The Street Scriptures", due for release in late June.
Guru will be bringing a more personal style to audiences by performing in more intimate venues for the Street Scriptures Tour. During his show Guru will be drawing from Gangstarr and Jazzmattazz material as well as showcasing previously unheard tracks from his new album.
