  • Moog has a new synth called Subsequent 25. The US manufacturer's latest product is designed to offer the signature Moog sound in a portable package tuned for software integration. The accompanying free Subsequent 25 Editor/Librarian Software lets you control the synth's parameters with your DAW of choice and provides access to hidden features and the preset library. Despite being Moog's smallest full-size synth to date, there's room for CV and gate inputs, and every function has a dedicated control knob. Two oscillators and a sub-oscillator can be stacked using Unison Mode or the first two can be split in Duo Mode, meaning you can play two notes simultaneously. The usual Moog Ladder filter is expanded with a drive circuit for colouring the signal, which Moog says is a blend of "OTA distortion and FET drive." The Subsequent 25 is out now for £895.
