Secretsundaze reveals new sustainability initiative, Dance 2 Sustain

- Secretsundaze are launching a new sustainability initiative this spring. For Dance 2 Sustain, the DJ duo of James Priestley and Giles Smith are introducing several changes to their events, including banning single-use plastics and red meat (all other food will be locally sourced), offsetting essential air travel by using trains and zero-emission cab company Green Tomato Cars via Clean Scene, and introducing a £1 "green tax" on tickets, which will go straight back into Dance 2 Sustain, with remaining funds to be donated to climate action group Possible. "It's become impossible not to stand up and take action against this urgent climate crisis," Priestley says. "Working across various venues comes with its own set of challenges, but hopefully in the near future some of the methods we're introducing will be standard across the industry." Secretsundaze's next London events will take place at The Cause (March 6th), followed by a double-venue season opener at Oval Space and The Pickle Factory (May 2nd). On May 30th, the team heads to E1, which will open an outdoor car park space for the first time. Outside of London, Secretsundaze will host an Off Week party in Barcelona on June 20th. Artists confirmed for these upcoming dates include Optimo, Sassy J, Omar-S, DJ Python, Mister Saturday Night, OK Williams, Move D, Lauren Hansom and Secretsundaze themselves.
