  • Bass Culture Research has launched a new podcast series. The series' focus is on exploring the impact of Jamaican soundsystem culture on British music and life. Bass Culture: How Bass Music Shaped British Society will run weekly for the next two months and includes interviews with historian Paul Gilroy, dub producer Dennis Bovell and lovers rock singer Janet Kay. The first instalment featured dub poet Linton Kwesi Johnson. The interviews, hosted by conducted by Steel Pulse's Mykaell Riley and author Caspar Melville, were recorded between 2016 and 2019.
