  • The Avalanches have a new album called We Will Always Love You on the way. Update, September 14th 18:52 BST: The group have since released more details and two new tracks, "Take Care In Your Dreams" featuring Sampa The Great, Tricky and Denzel Curry, along with "Music Makes Me High." You can listen to those below. They also revealed the release date for the LP: December 11th. After releasing singles that saw the sampledelic Melbourne crew collaborating with the likes of Jamie xx, Neneh Cherry and Vashti Bunyan, the band shared the Jonathan Zawada-designed cover art forWe Will Always Love You on Instagram. The artwork features Ann Druyan, the creative director for the Voyager Golden Record (two LPs launched into space in 1977 carrying sounds and images portraying life on earth for chance discovery by extraterrestrials). The band describes the forthcoming album as "an exploration of the vibrational relationship between light, sound and spirit," and says they ran Druyan's image through a spectrograph, "turned [it] into sound and back again," with the image hidden deep within the music. The Avalanches also worked with astronomer and astrophysicist Frank Drake to translate the Arecibo message—a 1974 interstellar radio message carrying basic information about humanity and beamed at the globular star cluster M13—into sound.
