- Nubreed's Danny Bonnici will be performing a DJ and effects set with Ableton live at Melbourne's Quality Control, alongside PQM who will be showcasing his new album.
The recently launched Quality Control night returns after their debut event with a new bunch of special guests and a reinforced commitment to deliver new names, live music and great DJ sets covering breaks, beats, house, electro, techno and progressive. This month's party will take place on Friday 16 December at The Playpen in Prahan, Melbourne.
For the Christmas Quality Control party the special guests will be New York ex-patriot PQM and Danny Bonnici performing his inaugural Ableton Live performance. Now a Melbourne resident and fast becoming a musical asset to the city, PQM will be showcasing new material from his forthcoming album and performing exclusively in the Loft. He'll be playing a classic to contemporary mash up of Hip Hop, House and Breaks over three hours.
It will be a world first when Nubreed lead singer Danny Bonnici steps up to the console to perform a DJ set using Ableton live in conjunction with a Pioneer DJM-909 Mixer and tweaking known records with additional pads and effects. The stage will be set for one of the most unique experiences of 2005.
Bonnici has had a long list of collaborations and releases that span nearly a decade. Involved with Australia’s premier breaks act Nubreed and a major influence in shaping the global breaks scene, Danny’s voice is known to many through such records as ‘Oblivion’, ‘One Day’ and most notably ‘Welcome’. He has worked recently on a diverse range of styles including electro and house with Melbourne wizard Andy Page and Q.C. resident Dan Mangan as well as co-producing one of 2004’s biggest records of the year ‘Ride’, with dance music heavyweight Luke Chable.
The Quality Control residents Keltec, Mangan, Feigan and Tahl will also be there on the night and just when you think it can't get any better, entry is only $10! Be there to witness the finest Melbourne talent in action!
