  • Proton Radio has switched from Cafeteria to The Penthouse for their event at this year's Miami WMC. One of the DJs at this year's Proton Radio Live Sessions is Steve Gerrard, who has a show on the station, Dialogue, every Third Friday of the month and we asked him how his WMC set will be different from his radio show. "I guess the main difference will be that I'll be playing for a bunch of pissed up idiots who can't dance very well rather than being the self indulgent DJ locked in a room at home, " jokes Gerrard. Proton Radio was the brainchild of Sam Packer, who, along with Jason Wohlstadter, does much of the behind-the-scenes work involved in running the station and the digital label. The station has been an avid supporter of Steve Gerrard right from day one and Gerrard is more than happy to sing its praises, "There's plenty of half-assed net radio stations out there as we all know. Proton is one of the few that do things very professionally and it shows in the results. It's great to see them taking the Proton name beyond the radio thing too. The label, for example, seems to be going well and they're now supporting producers as much as DJs, and bringing great music to the masses." Those heading to Steve Gerrard at the Proton Radio Live Sessions party at the WMC can expect to hear his new collaboration with Stewart Keenan called "Orca" plus some new material from Duran & Aytek, which Gerrard says is 'superb'. Proton Radio Live Sessions takes place at The Penthouse with Steve Gerrard and a host of other DJs and artists on March 23rd, 2006.
