  • The title sponsors and main headliners for Detroit's Electronic Music Festival (DEMF) 2006 which will take place May 27-29, have been announced. As we announced on RA back in March, the Paxahau Promotions Group were chosen by the City of Detroit to produce the 2006 edition of DEMF. In further great news for the festival, Paxahau has secured Chrysler Jeep Superstores and Motor City Dodge Dealers as the event's title sponsors and already seem to have taken steps to ensure the long-term financial viablity of the event. "They understand that the festival is part of the cultural fabric of Detroit and they see its significance internationally and within the electronic music community. We look forward to a longstanding relationship with these organizations," said Paxahau's Managing Director Jason Huvaere. After careful consideration of several venues, Paxahau also announced the 2006 event will remain at Downtown Detroit's Hart Plaza. "We considered several venue options in order to really determine the best location for the event, for fans, and for the City of Detroit," said Huvaere. "When it comes to infrastructure and ambience, it’s tough to beat Hart Plaza." Fans won’t be disappointed by the 2006 line up, which features established big names: The Orb, Richie Hawtin, Josh Wink, Derrick Carter, Speedy J & Chris Leibing and talented producers Daniel Bell, Rob Acid, Alex Under, Markus Guentner, Superpitcher, Jeremy Caufield, Jay Haze, Pascal F.E.O.S and Dandy Jack.
